Berth Planner turned problems to opportunities

Today there are many actors involved in a port call process, tools are not user friendly, and some steps in the port call planning process is still manual. Manual port call planning leads to poor collaboration, longer waiting times, more emissions and higher cost to all actors involved. Ports do not have a clear overview of the vessel traffic and operational status.

”The port of Gothenburg, as many other ports, has a wide range of platforms and applications. However, none of them is an “overarching port call optimization platform”- says Martin Johannesson, Head of IT, Port of Gothenburg.

The Port of Gothenburg wants to digitalize the freight hub and become the Smart Port in the Nordics. Digital Twin for The Port of Rotterdam

The physical properties and characteristics of the Port of Rotterdam were required to be transferred into a simulation where their multiple variables could be changed and tested fast and effectively, and without risking the physical operation of the port.
